PROJECT 8. Performance & Award night. This is the last project in sem 1.
The themes for this year performance & award night is ''The Lost Kingdom"
Every different major are given a kingdom and they have to design a costume based on their respective kingdom. And the kingdom for my major ,Quantity Surveying is MAJAPAHIT.

This is the costume of QS in the performance night !

After we discussed among all the QS members, we decided to have dancing as our performance on the performance night!!!Thanks to Nalayani, who is one of the coursemate, she introduce a great dancer as our tutor, name Jerry. We trained very hard until some of us are sick.But, we still put our full effort in our last project.

We trained overnight and just have few hours of rest before the performance night start!! We still work hard and dance infront of the lecturer although we all are feeling tired!!

There are a lot of awards were given out to the students.

First prize we got was 2nd place for the banner for exhibition day.

Unexpectedly, we also got the BEST COSTUME and BEST KING awards!!!!

This is my first time help to dressing up with only cloths and pins.

PROJECT 7 : EXHIBITON

EXHIBITION , XZBITION!!
Our project 7 ,which is exhibition...all the first year students were divided based on their major. Hence, I am in then quantity surveying group.
For quantity surveying booth, we have to design a booth with construction management group. BOOTH ?? yup ! It's booth ~~~~~ we have to setup and decorate the booth to display our project work from project 1 until project 6!!!So that we can see our improvement from project 1 until project 6 !

After that, all the QS members gather and discusses our respective job.With the cooperation of all the members, we able to setup our booth in 2 days time !! And the decoration was nice !

Through this exhibition, the very first time , all the qs members work together. This enable me have more communicate with my coursemates. And i personally feeling satisfy about this time exhibition !! Feeling happy to see our hardwork being pasted on the board !

PROJECT 6C : PHYSICAL SCALE MODEL

After the amphitheater stage design and the project report about the stage, we have to construct a scale model based on the design that we proposed......in SCALE 1:5 !!! I was shocked when I am briefing this project. It's so BIG and HUGE model that I never did before.....AND we only give 2 weeks time for finish it......
We spend alot of time to finish the scale model, me and my group members put alot of effort to settle and complete this model....We work as a group, Group spirit, No races and languages different ''membrane'' affect us as a group!!!

PROJECT 6:INTEGRATED PROJECT: DESIGN & BUILD ‘AN AMPHITHEATRE STAGE’

 Project 6a & 6b : Amphitheater Stage Design & Project Report

Finally, the hardest project...hmmm... i feel so.... which is project 6. The first time that i work in such big group, 16 members from different major are in a group. And finally.....paperwork!!! 

  Basically, we need to design a amphitheater stage which located at the specific site.Need  to design an amphitheatre with the topography condition of the given site (next to the end of the HBP E08 Studio Block facing the Penang Bridge) and tropical climate of Malaysia which is characterized by heavy rain, intense sunshine, windless condition etc.

 So that, we need to do the site analysis and the design a suitable amphitheater stage. Main material is timber and the size is 4.0m (width),6.0 (length) and 5.0(height). We also need to present presentation drawings in 3 or 4 A1 cartridge papers.

  The presentation drawings of the proposed amphitheatre stage design should consists of:

           -          Key Plan (NTS) and Location Plan (NTS)

-          Site Inventory (NTS)

-          Conceptual Design sketches and relevant bubble diagrams

                 Site Plan (with roof plan of the stage and landscapes) (1:100 scale)

-          Floor Plan (1:50 scale) (along with the dimensions & specifications)

-          Elevations - Front, Rear, Right & Left Sides (1:50 scale)

-          Horizontal and Longitudinal Sections (1:50 scale)

-          3 Details of structural joints (1:20 scale)

-          at least 3 Perspectives drawings

For this project, we are required to discuss, design and draw the amphitheatre. I had been elected to be in the costing group which suites the course/major that I am now studying in, that is quantity surveying. And for the design part, we have selected the idea from the architect student from my group CHAN LEE KANG which is cocoon concept. LAST, I am PROUD AND I have the say that GROUP 11, GALAXY 11 THE BEST !!!!

PROJECT 5A & 5B : SENSE OF PLACE : NEIGHBOURHOOD AND COMMUNITY

Finally, there's no more A3 cartridge paper. A3 life gone !! Started from project 5.......we have to do something BIG ! We have to do site analysis and it is INDIVIDUAL work !There were 6 site (residential areas), we chose a residential area in Sg.Ara. The site we chose was ''SIARA 81".

We went to the site for 3 times to collect more information such as movement network, lot layout, name of buildings, sun orientation, vegetation and so on.Other than that, we also went to the developer office to obtain the layout plan.

Project 5A : Neighbourhood elements: Existing Condition

I had learned a lot while doing this project. Thanks to my studiomaster who led us from the beginning until the end of the project.

We have to draw key plan. location plan and also layout plan in a A2 size cartridge paper!!! It's not easy !!

Project 5B : Neighbourhood elements: Proposed Improvements

 On project 5b, we have to propose and suggest the way and facility that used to improve the site, which is 'SIARA 81". It was quite a hard time for me to search for more information for improving and propose better improvements for the residential area.

PROJECT 4 : PRESENTATION DRAWINGS

 For the project 4, that is related to project3b (object connection). Plan and Elevations (front, right, left and rear) drawings based on ComforTABLE CHAIR that we designed in project 3b. Drawings in scale of 1:20.Other than that,a axonometric drawing and perspective drawing that with human figure also need to be produced based on model of project 3b.

In this project 4, I have learned how to organize my drawing in just 2 cartridge paper. Other than that, my drawing skill and colouring skill also improved .

PROJECT 3B : Object Connection : A ComforTABLE Chair

The first group work. Project 3b......Object Connection. We are in the group of 3,same courses. We need to produce a structural model of a wooden L-shape seating object that combines a table and chairs.Giving a theme 'UNITY'. The comfortable chair is put as furniture at outdoor comfortable resting spot for HBP community and visitors. Finally ! No more drawing....but there's have to make a model.Time consuming....our group always stay in studio until late night. Beach chairs and tatami?? haha ! that's the idea of our group ! All the people can sit together without any obstruction. To match the theme UNITY...Thx my groupmate , work hard and the end product is satisfy.

The Environment of Studio during project 3B.

This was the first group project, I learned how to cooperate with my group members and team spirit !! Due to different hostel of my both group members, we have to work in studio. First time i stay up late until 5am in studio.Really nice experience, because there were so many people in the studio although IT WAS 5AM !!!!! Some more got a part of people slept in the studio.
